Pre-Calculus I and II are 1/2 year courses. Both courses are designed to prepare students for a first course in calculus. Please see the "Year-At-A-Glance" for a list of topics that will be covered throughout both courses.
In Pre-Calculus I, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry are integrated with other important topics of mathematics by means of a function approach. Successful completion of this course is determined by quarter grades and a final examination given in January.
Pre-Calculus II is a continuation of Pre-Calculus I. In this course, all aspects of mathematics are integrated using a visual approach. Successful completion of this course is determined by quarter grades and a final examination given in June.
