Second Grade Art

Second graders are learning about communities in their classrooms and have begun creating art to extend their learning. Cityscapes were drawn, colored and collaged in the style of Romare Beardon. The Honeoye Falls village walking field trip last week inspired some amazing drawings of the places the kids visited in our "suburban" community. Students have also used guided imagery to "see" their homes and to create very detailed drawings. This community unit will end with a large scale "rural" landscape, featuring some of the historic barns of Mendon taken by our school librarian, Mrs. Masterson-Smith.
